About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Conwy on High Street, Casa Illy is a delightful coffee store and café that offers more than just your average cup of joe. This charming spot is a haven for coffee enthusiasts and casual visitors alike, combining exceptional brews with a welcoming atmosphere that feels both fresh and familiar.

What truly sets Casa Illy apart is their commitment to quality and customer experience. The coffee here is frequently lauded as the best in Conwy—a claim that resonates instantly upon your first sip. Rich, robust, and expertly crafted, their coffee awakens the senses and transports you to faraway places, with Roberto Huggs noting how it evocatively reminds him of Spain. Paired with a selection of beautifully presented cakes and paninis, each bite and sip feels like a small celebration of flavour and care.

Step inside, and you’ll appreciate the café’s tasteful fusion of modern and retro décor, with quirky touches that give each corner a distinct character. From the bright, airy upstairs seating by the window to the carefully curated walls adorned with pictures available for purchase, Casa Illy feels like a vibrant and intimate cultural hub. The atmosphere is enhanced by the gentle notes of live acoustic guitar drifting in through open windows, creating an enveloping sense of calm and joy as described by Craig Taylor.

Service at Casa Illy deserves a special mention. Guests repeatedly highlight the friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm staff, composed mostly of young ladies who bring a refreshing energy to the space. Their quick service ensures you can grab a well-made coffee to enjoy by the nearby harbour or settle in to savor a relaxing moment inside. As Richard Tanswell suggests, take your coffee to go and soak in the stunning sea views just minutes away.

Whether you are a local or a visitor seeking a vibrant coffee stop that combines top-notch beverages, delicious light bites, and a charming, thoughtfully designed ambiance, Casa Illy delivers an experience that lingers in your memory long after your cup is empty.

Best coffee in Conwy. Very friendly super quick service with gorgeous selection of cakes and paninis. Recommend you get your coffee from here. They do take out too to take and sit at the harbour.

I love the coffee here it reminds me of Spain. The staff are really happy and make you feel valued. Lovely choice of cake and sandwiches. The place is clean and tidy well decorated with upstairs seating. It's a short walk to the sea front harbour and the smallest house. I'd give it ten out of ten. The staff were young ladies and are the opposite of the negative reviews. I couldn't give them enough praise for their excellent customer service

A charming little cafe. We much enjoyed our brew and tea cake, it is a quirky setup with a mixture of both modern and retro furnishings. There is a wide selection of pictures on the wall available to both view and purchase. We sat upstairs next to the widow in a nice bright room. We had the pleasure of relaxing sounds from acoustic guitar being played outside flowing through the open window, which gave a very comfortable and relaxing experience. Looses 1 star due to cleanliness. A little more effort and attention to detail would make a vast difference. Light switches on the way upstairs looked extremely grubby, just little things like that. All in all a lovely place, well worth a visit.
